Extra Credit: Growth Mindset

Here are some feedback cats to close out my blog this semester!

I chose this particular cat meme because it has been my experience that perception is everything in an academic environment, as well as in any facet of one's daily challenges. Seeing your problems as large and difficult to tackle lowers your motivation and ability to actually take them on. When we see something and think it is actually within our grasp or ability, we are open to trying our best and free our bodies from the confines of anxiety or disbelief. As a vocal music major, working to control some tiny muscles and subtle muscle movements in my throat, face and core, confidence and mental discipline become much more important than natural ability.

This cat meme is also very insightful, because humans don't always seem like they are able or desirous of asking for help. People like to put up an exterior for numerous reasons: they either want to stand alone in taking credit for success, they are embarrassed that they need help, they aren't "people-persons", or various other possibilities. The thing that is lost on people is the fact that we've all had different experiences, meaning we've had to overcome different challenges and have absorbed different and often insightful solutions. Using your friends and asking for help is an awesome way to get a unique opinion and receive knowledge you haven't yet been told.
