Week 8 Reading and Writing

1. Looking Back:

Overall, the reading and writing assignments have been treating me well! I feel like I have really gotten an understanding of the plot and characters in each of the two Indian epics. While I'm happy with the way I've written my notes, I wish I would have taken advantage of more of the story-telling assignments. I feel as though I have a lot of creative ideas for these assignments, but have had little time or low energy when I actually have planned to do them. While I don't have a lot of stories in my repertoire, I have plenty of notes to help me write future stories. I am very happy with my blog and the aesthetic of it! So far, my biggest accomplishments in the class have been the milestones I've personally made with having a growth mindset and giving/receiving feedback! These aspects of the course have followed me in my other studies and musical aspirations!

2. Image

This is by far my favorite picture that I've used in a post! I used this image for my introduction post because it is a picture of me in costume from last semester's opera. In the picture, you can also see the lead character from that show (in the middle) as well as one of my best friends, George, who played the teacup to my teapot. George is also in our Indian Epics class! I appreciated this picture and the introduction assignment a lot because I remember how excited I was to share my own experiences and get to know everyone else as well!

Looking Forward:

In the future, I want to be sure to take advantage of the story-telling assignments. I feel this is the most creative aspect of our class, and I really want to make more time to enjoy it. In order to achieve this, I'm going to make an effort to work ahead when I have extra time. If I didn't feel somewhat rushed to complete each assignment, I'm certain I would be able to really capitalize on everything I turn in! Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it wouldn't be a goal if it was something I'm already doing!
