Bibliography: Noor Inayat; The Tortoise and the Geese, The Tortoise and the Geese
*Safe to say the Jataka Tales are my "focus" for the free reading!!
*There was once a tortoise that lived near a pond in the Himalayas.
*He had two geese friends who apparently had a home in a golden cave up the mountain. They invite the tortoise over to their home.
*He says that he doesn't have any wings, and therefore will never make it to their home. The birds instruct him to hold a stick in his mouth that they will each carry an end of in their beaks.
*As they flew over the kingdom, the children began mocking and laughing at the tortoise.
*The tortoise felt self-conscious, and could not resist crying out at the children to stop. This results in him falling from the sky.
*He happens to fall into the courtyard of a castle, in which a king lives, and the king allegedly is quite talkative and annoying to other members of the castle.
*The king's counselor takes this opportunity to explain to the king that such is the fate of those who cannot hold their tongues.
*The king realizes this lesson is meant for him, changes his ways, and lives happily ever after.
