*There was once a beautiful kingdom with a beautiful palace and a mighty king.

*The king had a wonderful horse that was said to essentially be better than any other steed. He lived in the palace and was admired by many.

*Because of the happiness, beauty and prosperity of the kingdom, other nearby kings wanted to take it over and rule it. There were seven other kings and armies that all wanted to take the palace.

*The king assigned himself a warrior that would ride his horse into battle.

*The knight rode the horse into battle and, sure enough, won battle after battle. However, the horse took a few blows and was wounded when there was still another army left.

*Before the knight could gather another horse, the mighty, wounded horse pleaded with him to keep using him. He cautioned him that no other horse would be so helpful and he would lose the battle if he used another.

*So he uses the mighty horse one more time, wins the seventh battle and the horse is injured again.

*Before dying, the horse tells the man not to be sad for he was served his purpose. He then dies and the kingdom always remembers his sacrifice.
