Reading: Jataka Tales

Bibliography: Noor Inayat, The Empty Lake, The Empty Lake

*I think by the end of the semester I may have read every Jataka tale Inayat has written 😂😂

*Once there was lake filled with fish and beautiful water-lilies. Everything was beautiful and so on and so forth.

*One of the fish tells his fish brothers and sisters a story:

*There was once a king to all of the beautiful fish, and he was beautiful and golden.

*One day, "Queen Rain" forgot to send down her showers, Mother Earth drank the water from the lake, and King Wind blew the water out of the lake.

*The king fish whispered softly, and queen rain sent her fairies with water vessels. King thunder commanded his army: "FIRE!".

*The whole world shook, and rain poured down. But the king feared his lake would not get completely full.

*After asking these weather people for more, the rain and thunder increased.

*Then the kings and queens of weather descended and told the king they heard his cry, and answered it because they saw the love in his heart.

*How did it end? I bet you can guess.
